December is National Human Rights Month: Best International Volunteer Organizations

In December 5, 2016

December is National Human Rights Month. While the world focuses on acts of humanitarianism throughout the entire month, Human Rights Day is officially observed on December 10th. In 1948 the United Nations General Assembly passed resolution 423 (V), which invited humanitarian organizations, states and volunteers worldwide to observe December as a month for standing up for human rights.

In anticipation of the month, individuals may be considering volunteering their time or resources to volunteer groups or other organizations that act on behalf of human rights. If you’re considering getting involved this December, a great way to help is through reputable volunteer abroad programs. If finances are an issue, there are volunteer abroad programs with free travel included.
